As a congregation, we have almost completed the process of refurbishing of the former community centre on St. Nicholas Avenue in the middle of the Norton estate. As a congregation we are getting used to our new home. Our aim is to use it as a base for the church and for various community activities and projects. We will be known as Norton Community Church and will take over developing the work done by Zion (Norton Green) on Endon Road and St John’s (Norton) on Knypersley Road.
We are excited about our future, whilst remembering where we have come from and those people that have served faithfully the church societies, laying the foundation of who we are today. Our goal is still the same today as it was in 1878 (Zion) and 1814 (St. John’s) when the old churches opened – doing God’s work for our neighbours in the name of Jesus.
The first full service was 4th August ’19. A month later we were officially opened 14th September ’19 which was followed by a Dedication service the next day.
